Ruhango: Residents decry lack of electricity

Residents in the outskirts of Ruhango town have requested EWSA administration to extend electricity supply in their area to help them fit in the development pace.


The request was presented by Esidilasi Nama, a resident of Rwoga cell in Ruhango district saying there are over 20 homes in the cell that is lagging behind in development due to lack of power supply.


Alex Shabayiro, a resident of Mugaseke cell near Ruhango town laments they have requested EWSA for a long time over the same issue but told to wait with a justification that some poles and cables were missing.

Jonas Mukwega, director EWSA in Ruhango district said they are aware of the issue but are waiting for an answer from the national level.


In three years EWSA has been operating in Ruhango district, it has connected 7,550 residents out of 300,000 residents in the district.
