Nyamasheke: JADF urged to put effort in 2013/2014 performance contracts


District authorities in Nyamasheke have asked Joint Action Development Forum to put in more effort in their activities to enable the 2013-2014 performance contracts implementation reach at 100 percent.


This was revealed on October 31st 2013 during the meeting to evaluate the implementation of the district’s 2013-2014 performance contracts.


During the meeting, Nyamasheke district administration presented to the development partners the areas where much effort is needed to successfully implement 2013-2014 performance contracts.


They include building classrooms, donating cows to the poor residents, distributing water and electricity, educating illiterate residents how to read and write, shifting residents to model villages and installing lightening rods in public places.


Charles Bahizi, vice-mayor for economic affairs in Nyamasheke district asked development partners to play a big role in increasing the number of Nyamasheke residents working with banks and other financial institutions.

During the meeting, it was decided that development partners pay their employees through banks and other financial institutions as a way of promoting saving culture among residents.


Alphonse Nkurunziza, Project Manager at Handicap International in Nyamasheke district says the meeting helps partners make decisions on implementing activities directed at residents’ social development.


Nkurunziza reveals that Handicap international will educate illiterate how to read and write so that it’s achieved 100 percent in the four sectors it operates in.


Handicap International will also help to extend modern technology to residents in 2013-2014 performance contracts.
