According to Desire Murokozi; acting deputy director general of corporate services at EWSA, roadsides lights are off time to time due to a maintenance going on at   Jabana II Thermal Power Plant in Kigali city.

“Power cuts are not happening in Bugesera alone but country wide. It is estimated that maintenance services will end in a month’s time.”

Apart from power shortage, residents asked about other issues like failure to distribute electricity to some places on time and lack of water in some areas of Bugesera district.

However, EWSA administration attributes the rampant problems to shortage of power cables in the country. They however said that they were planning to import cables.
